After calling LeSean McCoy “Lady Gaga” earlier today, McCoy might have thought he got the worst from Osi Umenyiora. But the full version of what Umenyiora had to say about McCoy is now available, and he went into greater detail about the hatred between the two.
Osi says there is no going back from what McCoy did
“Yeah, me and him, we had words on the field- both times we played. I hate him, he hates me, period,” said Umenyiora to Mike Garafolo of NJ.com. “He chose to take it off the field and make it public when it’s something that’s between me and him. It’s something we can address on the football field. He let the whole world know about it, so I’m going to respond.”
When asked about what kind of exchanges he and McCoy have had on the field, Umenyiora eleborated.
“He said all kinds of stuff. He called me an ‘African (blank). It was bad,” explained Umenyiora. “It was pretty intense between me and him. I said a couple of things to him, I don’t remember exactly what I said, but it was rough.”
Forgetting the fact that he conveniently forgot what he has said to McCoy, it seems hypocritical to say that this kind of stuff belongs on the field, then say that McCoy basically said some kind of a racial slur to Umenyiora. It seems he is now taking it farther then McCoy ever did.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out on the field. A few years ago, Jon Runyan would have taken care of this for McCoy, but their are no real enforcers on the Eagles offensive line now- besides maybe Todd Herremans- or really on the whole offense.
With Umenyioras future in New York up in the air, the defensive tackle said this will be taken care of- no matter where he is.
“I’ll see him somewhere,” promised Umenyiora. “Things are going to get heated.”
